Cortisol level

I have had blood tests showing a pm Cortisol blood level of 4.4. My Dr says this is 'normal'. I suspect adrenal fatigue and have thyroid and blood sugar problems which I am receiving medication for (at low doses). Is 4.4 a low level? And if so, what can I do about it?

Thanks, Cas

Thank you for your reply. Can I ask you what meds you are on for Grave's disease?

Also, who/where are you getting your Saliva testing done through?

As regards the Estrogen and Progesterone levels I should point out that the numbers will vary greatly depending on when in your cycle those blood levels are taken. A progesterone test should be taken 7 days past ovulation - to tell if you have likely ovulated or not. If it is taken at other times it could be low (and would be normal). A progesterone cream is usually used starting 3 days past ovulation. If you are TTC eg you could go to Fertilityfriend.com eg for more info.

I would find another doc. No your cortisol levels are low Mine was a 5 and that is low...I am starting progesterone cream and adreanl cream soon. Please because if it gets amy lower you could fall under Addisons disease. Please read real thyroid help.com or stop the tyroid madness.com Also read the merck dictionary on line under this subject. I am finding out after almost 20 years of having graves that I may have adrenal issues due to prolonged stress through out life... hope this helps.
