Found a tumor on my adrenal gland, things fall into place

First of all, hi everyone. I'm new to this group.

For the past 6 or 7 years, I've been steadily degrading, this last year being the worst. I have been experiencing all sorts of symptoms, which include:
-Headaches, severe and mild
-tingling in feet, arms, hand, legs
-severe muscle cramps through out the body, the worst being the ones around the abdomen
-phantom buzzing in my legs, spine, and brain
-extensive pain in the feet, legs, hands
-crazy emotional lack of control, I've been having some really bad mania episodes, which I have been taking meds for
-eye pain, impairment of vision in one eye
-extreme weight gain
-never ending unquenchable thirst
-heavy urination
-burning skin sensation
-numbness
-(cough) sexual dysfunction (cough)
-sensation of beings zapped with electricity on the side of my face/head
-right arm almost unusable due to extreme pain in the muscles (for a month now)

I have been tested for everything in the past couple of years, to the point that no one was believing that I was really having these symptoms anymore. I've had blood test, an MRI, X-rays, been to the psychiatrist. It has been one heck of a ride. I have even been diagnosed with bipolar syndrome and have been taking these meds that mess me up. I was pushing my doctor, because I was in belief that I had some sort of neurological problems, and even scheduled an appointment with a neuro. When I told my doc that I was going to the neuro, he said, well, lets get a CT scan done on your bladder. Thank goodness that happened, they found a tumor on my adrenal gland.....

So that's where I'm at right now, as I was just informed on Thursday of last week, and am scheduled for a MRI on Tuesday. Of course I have read on the coalition between this tumor and the symptoms I have been living with, and all I can do is breath a massive sigh of relief. I think this may actually be the solution.

If you made it though this long boring essay, I thank you :)
Have a great weekend everyone
John

Alas, yes, why look for the source when we can toss a pill at it.
Has your weight gain been all over, or just been in the abdomen?

Have you been to an eye doctor - done visual fields (humphries) tests? That may help out in the mean time if you can get in.

Even some vitamin deficiencies can point to issues for a smart endo. Lets hope the one you get to has some brains.

The drs DON'T WANT to pick up on anything anymore, it seems. They just want to pass out pills to keep us quiet.

That is what makes me so angry. There is no such thing as FIX the problem, lets just feed it with a pill, that they will have to keep buying and buying.

This is why I am having the same problem getting someone to find out what is causing my problems. I know it is adrenal in nature, and can't even get a dr to even discuss it.

I hope you get your MRI today and get the problem fixed!!

Denied, denied, denied. Ugh. It seems there was a mix up at the hospital that was going to give me an MRI, which said that insurance had denied me the MRI. Of course I huffed and puffed and left the hospital, only later to call insurance and find out that I have unlimited MRI coverage. So, today I reschedule the MRI.

Rumpled, I have no other testing in the past. It was just dumb luck that they found the tumor. Never has any doctor suspected anything wrong. Like I said, it was believed that I was a hypochondriac. My wife admitted to me last night that she thought I was exaggerating the truths to her as well.

After reading on all the symptoms of this aliment, I half ask myself why a doctor wouldn't pick up on something abnormal. But then I must imagine that they are human, and have a full plate themselves.

I have started collecting Medical data as well, thank you for the advice, as I'm certain that you are correct.

One question. It seems odd that my doctor would be holding off until I get my MRI results back before referring me to an Endo. The tumor is there, no doubt, why wouldn't I immediately put this into the hands of an expert in the field. I am hoping that this isn't becoming a game of ego's.

Make sure you get a copy of the CT and MRI and the reports, as well as any tests (labs, etc) going forward, and any you had in the past - it may help piece things together.

What endocrine testing have you had in the past?

I am SO SO glad they found this. Usually they just say its in your head, or you can't be feeling all this, or lets get you in for a psych eval.  So I am glad you have finally found the physiological cause of your symptoms.

To be honest, I have no idea. My doctor has not referred me to anyone, hence forth, I am going to call and endo on Monday.

What are they testing you for now? What is the suspicion? Pheo, Cushing's, or other?
