Low FSH and Low Estrodiol

Hi,

My wife hasn't had her cycle in over 8 months, she isn't pregnant (25 years old).  She recently saw her endocrinologist and was informed that her FSH and Estrodiol levels were extremely loW, her cortisol levels are normal.  He did an MRI of the pituitary and found nothing and now wants her to go to her gyno because he can't seem to figure it out.  Can anyone shed some light on what the cause could be, this has been a frustrating ordeal, please help!

Plus the doc, if that is all he tested, did not test enough like thyroid, other male/female hormones and other hormones that can be off... so it was like 5% of the pic and saying *okay!*.

Well it's a bit complex since there are many variables but here's the pathway:
from the hypothalamus-->gonadotropin-releasing hormone is released-->
which prompts  pituitary gland to release FSH-->FSH enter the blood circulation and stimulates the ovary to release Estradiol (E2)

So this pathway explains at least in part the low Estradiol, but the interesting observation  is the continuous feedback loop- at the end of this pathway where Estradiol turns off the release of gonadotropin-releasing hormone when it reaches the hypothalamus, in order to start the Estradiol
release cycle all over again!
I can see why the Endo is puzzled, if there are no other obvious clinical findings, relating to this.
What come first the chicken or the egg?

Unfortunately there's not enough in your post, to give me any specific clues.

Do you know what her fat % is? Has she been involved in any sports training, what meds is she on, is she on low fat diet, has high stress levels,
was her cortisol total levels or bioavailable and was it a blood test?
Anything else?

I'll wait for your reply and hopefully, I'll be able to give you some insight.

Best wishes.
Niko
