could addison disease be cause from lack of nutrition

I am post 6 years gastric bypass.   I was dx 3 years ago with Graves disease.  Now I feel like **** and went to see my endocrenogist.  Ran test and found, extreamly low iron, b-12.  I was telling her about all my issues like lack of sleep at night, nights sweets and tired all the time.  She suggested that I go and see a Gyn doctor.  My gyn doctor ran some more test and the results were TSH 0.39, testosterone total 0.32, progesterone 28.3, DHEA Sulfate 75, cortisol am 3.9 and cortisol pm 4.4, estrone lc/ms/ms 192, estradiol ultrasensitive lc/ms/ms 138.

My Gyn doctor wanted to put me 150.00 month herbal supplment as well as she prescribed me testosterone cream compounds, progesterone and estrogine.  My endocrenogist wasn't hip with HRT idea.  I can't afford the herbs, so I have asked my endo doctor to run test to see if I have addison's disease.  My PCP doctor just told me to get a second opinion, however these tests and doctor appoints are breaking the bank.  I do have insurance, however I still have to pay for most of the tests.

What do you think?  Could this all be from my lack of nutriton.  I did change my vitamens, to vista vitamens.  They are for gastric bypass patients.  I read an article from The american jornal of clinical nutrition, and in a nut shell it states that over the counter multivitamins aren't enough for the bypass patients so that is why I changed to twice a day vitamins.  I also am taking iron supplents that are chelated. along with the b-12 shot once a month.

I have been on the new vitamins about a week now, and really don't see a big change...small if any. My endo doctor wants to run more labs that include some type of injection then draw my labs 30 minutes after that.  Anyone know what this is like and what the side effects would be from the injection?

I wait to hear what your thoughts are.

I totally agree with the above.

As of right now your Graves DX based on your TSH is normal low. One titer lower and you would be subclinical hyperthyroid. Again- only basing this as a "number"

Your am cortisol is way low as said -

I know so little about bypass surgery on the nutritional level - but I can see how having something like that can deplete the system.

Most OTC Vit's are bad. Mostly fillers and such - A gal over on thyroid - Laura1967 is a wiz at this stuff. Contact her - she's great!

Your adrenals sound to me like they are conken out - you need help repairing them. Talk to your doctor about them. I don't think you are at Addison's - testing is good though - but you need repair to get your system moving right again.

The injection you speak of sounds like the cortisol stimulation test. You should not have any side affects from this, except you might feel better for a while afterward. Your morning cortisol was too low, so this is a good test to do.
Lack of nutrition can certainly contribute to the symptoms you mention, but there are probably hormonal changes involved here.
Be sure to have your mineral levels checked as part of those labs your endo wants to do.
Not being able to sleep can be caused by many things of course, but deficiencies of magnesium, ferritin (stored iron), and calcium are common causes.
If your PCP and endo are thorough enough, hopefully you will figure this out soon. The tests can get expensive, but they are important to finding proper treatment.
