Glad to hear the cortisol is ok. Yeah - a lot of docs ignore the hashis - if the TSH is ok they think all is well but do not look at symptoms or thyroid tests (TSH is a pituitary test, not thyroid).
I have two cats - bro and sis - and they have very different personalities. The sis is a goat (she eats paper, wood whatever) and the bro is more dog like and follows us around... They are fun!
Hi there! I got my lab reports from my doctor and it seems that my cortisol level is ok. PHEW!! However, I am very concerned that I may have Hashimoto's disease due to my thyroid peroxidase antibody test coming back at 380. Normal is <35! My endo sent me a letter to say my adrenal is good but made no mention of my TPO test, which HE ordered. Probably going to head to Mayo...I think someone needs to take a look at my whole picture. Hope you are doing well! By the way, I see you have a cat. Me too but she thinks she's a dog!!!
8am is good. I usually try to get a copy of the labs - either by asking the doctor for a copy or asking the lab to send me a copy before I get the draw (that is, however, a 50/50 chance you will get it... sadly).
Every lab has different ranges for cortisol so it is hard to say - I think my lab goes up to around 20 something so you are ok, but on the higher end of most of the labs. That could be normal though - do you track your tests over time?
Hi there...i had my blood drawn at 8 am to check cortisol. Not sure what the range is. How do i find that out? I had my adrenal gland removed about 33 yrs. ago due to wilms tumor. Along with my kidney, appendix, and part of my liver.
As for cortisol - what type of test - blood? What time of day and what was the range? Did you have one adrenal removed?
Usually the thyroid meds take 4-6 weeks to work.
