Reaction to sugars and HFCS.

Our 4 year old has trouble with sugars.  Our Doctors have never seen this before.  My husband and I figured it out by process of elimination.  When she was born she was lactose intolerant, but gradually grew out of it by age 2.
When she eats certain foods (ie; Cake, anything with HFCS or Coco) her body starts to react as if she has a cold. Clear runny nose, fever, occasional chills and in some cases has thrown up the said food.

What is this? Does it have a name? Do other children or adults experience this?

Family HX: Mother was lactose intolerant as a child, but grew out of it.
Father was diagnosed with hypoglycemia at age 28.

Yes, do see an allergist, too.  But, know this one thing:  Food allergies will test positive with the RAST tests and such, but food sensitivities will not show up with the conventional blood tests.  Therefore, with food sensitivities, one has to go with the symptoms one has when eating certain foods.  So, this is just to add to what I said earlier.  What Mimi said is definitely something to follow, too, though.  Doing both is not conflicted information.

I have heard of being allergic to coco.  Have her see a allergist, they might have some insight.

I'm not sure, but check out Tyramine Intolerance and Histamine Intolerance, both of which are similar to each other.  This should give you a little bit of insight on what the issues in her diet are.

Sugars, gluten, lactose, chocolate, caffeine, etcetera are just some of the common food intolerances associated with Tyramine Intolerance.

Here is a very useful website that should help:  http://www.whfoods.com/genpage.php?tname=faq&dbid=30
