new symptoms....

for the past week  &1/2 i have had a sinus infection along with a cold. now the sinus infection was cleared up for about 2 days. well now i have lots of clear runny nose. and i have a headache, low fever, coughing uncontrolably
all that will come out is clear liquid. earlier this morning i had some blood when i coughed. last night as i was trying to sleep, i would feel so cold to the point where i was shivering and then a few  minutes later i would be sweating and so hott. this cough is pretty bad, i ghasp after each cough. but besides that im breathing fine.

any suggestions on how to clear this up?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
This could be a relapse of your sinusitis, viral fever, or chest infection. Over the counter antihistamines, decongestants, non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs all help. However you must consult a medicine specialist or your family physician first.

Steam inhalation, drinking hot fluids and soups, warm lemonade, gargling with warm saline water are all very helpful. However since you have had the symptoms for quite some time, it will be worthwhile to get a complete blood count, X-ray of chest and sinuses and complete checkup by your physician.

Hope this helps. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Sorry to hear, your not feeling well.  But If you cough up blood, I suggest you visit the ER.

I had similar symptoms in the past, just felt miserable, with small amounts of blood in mucus, when I coughed, I had broncitis (chest infection),.  I was prescribed antibiotics at the ER.

But what will help your cough is, hot water, tea & lemon, you can use honey, to sweeten up a bit.

Hope you feel better. Good luck !
