gross atrophy with chronic ischemic changes

MRI on my mother, aged 72 is diagnosed as gross atrophy with chronic ischemic changes. T2 and FLAIR hyper intensities bilateral capsulo ganglionic region, corona radiata and centrum semi ovale partially suppressed on FLAIRshe is completely bedridden and on nasal feed. Will she be cured? Pl. help.

I HATE TO SAY THIS, BUT YOU NEED TO BE REALISTIC, AND REALIZE AT 72 YOUR MOTHER PROBABLY WON'T GET BETTER. THE BEST THING YOU CAN DO IS MAKE HER COMFORTABLE.

Ther may be others here can answer this but I do not know but there is an Expert/Doctor forum and the good Doctor there will have some input for you, go back to the forums page look for Alzheimers and click on the right for expert help. Good Luck I hope she does okay .
