Stop Alzheimer's with a shot to the spine?

I am on morphine for pain, so my memory is .... a memory.  But I either read or heard of a treatment for Alzheimer's by a shot to the lower spine.  Reversal starts that day.

Was I dreaming?   Any of you heard of this?  I think it was on a local TV channel a few months ago, so the treatment is relatively new.

If there is such a shot, I can't help wonder what the side effects are.   Sorry, I don't remember the name of the drug.

I have only just raed your post, I am sorry you are having a hard time I hope when you read this life is treating you a little more kindly, Yes there is a big Break through out there Its called' Remba' I havent check ed it out too much yet My Mom had it so I am always interested in current new Meds, IT is suposed to be a big Breakthrough, put it into your search Engine it will come up, they are testing it and appently people who had Memeory loss etc can get thier memorys back again , the news this last week had some details about it, so chin up there could be some new help coming up.

Thank you for the follow up.  I am a little embarrassed to say I had forgotten I had posted this item.

I have been detoxing off opiates since July 19th and life is not a lot of fun right now.  Good days and bad.   I will make it since I don't really care for any medication.  I am on  19 prescriptions right now and would like to make it zero, but that will never happen unless the Starship Enterprise winds up in orbit over us.  :)

I will search for that right now, my brother is 70 and he is slipping too.  At least I can whine about my morphine moments.  :)

Take care and best wishes for your mom.  My dad had it.  My mom was lucid until her strokes at age 89.   I told my wife and kids, if I get Alzheimer's and I am abusive to her, put me away.  I have an Air Force retirement and disability that should pay for it.
Better yet, divorce me.   Don't let the gov't take everything she has.  Divorce me, put me in a facility (my niece runs one) and be happy.

I miss my Mom and Dad more than words can express, but there is a time for us to leave these bodies.  Cherish every moment you can, while you can.  I pray your mom is ok.  I am not sure if you said your mom had Alzheimer's and took this medication or if your mom is no longer with us.   Either way is difficult for us.

How can we contact the researchers of Remba in London?. We have a young relative in Paris in need of this new drug. Do you know of any Alzheimer Diasease  Community member in France that we may contact?.

This Post is for you dilfo and for edvarela ,I think at presant Remba is being put out for testing and there are a lot of people taking it on their research prorammes but it will be worth you putting that into your Search engine,put in, Research/tests New Drug/Alzheimers/Remba   I am going to do more research also, I heard it will be available on prescriiption in about2-3years when it has been passed as safe.When I heard about it I was excited as with my Mom I knew I am also at Risk,  Dilfo, I hope you are doing well today your cheery post made my day and you are taking 19 Meds, goodness, you must rattle a lot ,do you get those side effects aswell .I am sure your Family would never Divorce you so put that out of your mind, My Dad was in the Royal Air Force in England and he flew during the Battle of Britain, I was a service Brat, he and my Mom have passed now,I travelled to many countries as a kid and my Family was one of the first to go to Germany after the War in 1946, I am now an American/Brit living in or around I should say LA, I have Family here and in England still.I hope the Detoxing goes okay I am also researching many Natural Remedys for any ailments now as I am a bit fed up with the Heavy drugs and want to not get all those side efffects. Keep us posted .

Hi - I am not familiar with a shot to the spine, but our mother has been receiving injections at the base of her neck, of a drug named Enbrel since Feb. 2008, and she is doing remarkable well!  Yes, we saw immediate improvement.  Without it, she would sit and sleep all day and hardly communicate.  Now she is bright and cheery, and while she doesn't engage in full ongoing discussions as she used to, she talks and has comments and laughs, it is amazing.  It is expensive, yet is being advertised on TV now for Psoriasis treatment, and is also approved by insurance companies for treatment of Rheumatoid (sp.) Arthritis.  It isn't approved by insurance co's for Alzheimer's treatment, but it works!  For more info write back!  Blessings to you, have a wonderful day!
