15 year old. ALS?

Hello guys I am 15 years old and since the beginning of summer I have been experiencing weird symptoms. at first I just was getting daily headaches and we never found out. We got a CT scan and it was normal and I haven't gotten headaches since, (anxiety). I am an anxious person but at first I was getting mild twitches in my thighs. every week, nothing major. But recently its been everywhere, back of calfs, sometimes in feet (faster ones), back, butt, arms and so forth. I am so anxious that I usually search on the web and came across this ALS thing. I was just wondering if this had anything to do with it, I haven't had it in my family. But My muscles rarely twitched before. I am very athletic and box alot. I sometimes get hand tremors also after hitting the heavy bag. I dont really feel "weak" but my jaw some times does and its a little hard to open and close as fast as I used to but I have braces. I can swallow fine and all of that jazz. Im just wondering...
1. Is this ALS?
2. if not how can I control these (I eat somewhat healthy)
3. They usually happen when I sit down or go to sleep.

Thanx for the help

As a confirmed hypochondriac who has had extreme fears about this disease before I ought not to be here. Firstly ALS is very rare and you cannot imagine how rare it would be for someone as young as you.

I would take the path of looking up benign fasciculation syndrome, as have many others who come to this forum with questions like yours having made an association between twitching and ALS..

I am in my fifties now, a more acceptable age to be showing signs of ALS except that I have been cleared by no less than three neurologists now who say that I do not have it. I started twitching in my teens too., people who twitch are more common than people who have ALS, do take my word for that.

What about Lyme disease? Ask your doctor to do a western blot. NOT the ELISA (high false negative rate). Good luck

Low magnesium within the body's muscle and nerve cells causes problems, as magnesium is needed for all the enzyme processes.
Low mag can cause muscle twitches, headaches, anxiety and depression.
If you google for magnesium, twitching, you'll find articles about this.

Wishing you the best,
Carol
