Hello,
I am a 26yr old female. About 1 1/2 months ago i woke up one morning with increadibly bad heartburn, i had gone out drinking the night before, so i thought it was just a hang over, but it lasted for days. i finally went to a clinic and the told me that it was GERD, gave me a months suppply of prilosec, and told me to take it for a few weeks and if the pain didnt go away to call my GP. it didn't go away, so i saw my GP (this was about 2 weeks later). during this time i started to get pain in my back and going down my left arm. the pain also traveled up my throat, to my lower jaw and the left side of my tongue started to tingle, making it somewhat difficult to speak at times. that pain couple with the heartburn brought on anxiety (which i have a history of). he completey ignored the anxiety and arm pain and told me that the drinking may have damaged my esophagus and the pain in my back was from the damaged esophagus. he gave me prevacid and told me it would take about 2 months for all of the pain to go away. i had a full on panic attack yesterday and called my GP and was put on effexor. the chest pain and the pain in the middle of my back seems to have subsided. however, i am still concerned about the pain that goes from my left shoulder down my arm and into my hand. so far it is only my left arm and shoulder that bother me. i'm just looking for a peice of mind that that isn't ALS.
