Dog vomiting bile

I have a 13 year old chow. In the last month he has been vomiting bile a lot. At first it wasn't every day, but it would be multiple times a day, and then he seemed to be better for a day or two, and then he goes back to vomiting bile. He has been to two different vets. One did all sorts of blood work and it all came back great. They did say he had some arthritis. They release him with mushy food and told us to feed him a pepcid ac once a day. He actually got worse and the next day he threw up six times. We decided to take him to another vet. They ran a barium series, came back negative. They ran tests for poison came back negative. He is still throwing up bile. He doesn't want to eat, but will eat baby food ( expensive at 6 bottles a day) won't eat a/d. Won't eat shredded chicken. Will drink and can keep food and water down. What else could be wrong with him that we have missed? Over the weekend he was back home with us, but he got terribly weak and is back at vet today for IV fluids.

HI, my dog was vomitting and refused to eat.  She had ulcers in her stomach and an inflamed intestine.  Make sure there isn't a blockage and then get a scope down there to see what is happening.

There is a snap test for pancreatitis which literally takes 10 minutes to perform.  Since the barium study is normal it means that your dog does not have an obstruction.  However there may still be an abdominal mass that could cause a mechanical problem which may cause the vomiting.  Abdominal X-Rays and an abdominal ultrasound with or with out biopsy may be necessary. Other causes of vomiting and  weight loss could be Addisons's disease and Urinary tract infections or prostatitis (if your dog is intact).  Blood work could be normal under acute circumstances.  If no cause is found and it turns out to be gastritis than Reglan, Sucralfate and a good probiotic supplement may help.  Lastly,  Food Allergy gastritis/enteritis can cause vomiting and can occur at any age.  They can be allergic to any ubiquitious food that they have been eating for years such as chicken or beef in their usual dog food.

Was he tested for pancreatitis?  Any abdominal pain when the vet examined him?  Any other meds on board?
