The dose for metronidazole is 20 to 25mg per kg.  The dose for a large lab would be 500 to 750mg twice per day tor 7 days (Do not overdose).  If you have not given the correct dose or metronidazole than another course of metronidazole may help.

There could be gastrointestinal parasites not covered by the metronidazole, of course, and it would be best to have your dog's stool checked.  Other causes of bloody mucoid stool besides GI parasites include ingestion of sharp GI foreign bodies, toxins or chemicals, Parvovirus, or other viral or bacterial infections, pancreatitis and more.

You could try giving your dog Pepcid (famotidine), and Sucralfate, if you have access to these medications to treat the symptoms.  Pepcid is available over the counter in most countries.  The dose is 20 mg once or twice per day as listed on the bottle.  Also, a bland diet of a single protein, with rice or potato may also help.

If your dog does not get better on the homemade measures it would really be best to take him to the vet for an exam and diagnostics.
