I was able to see the photos. It looks worse than I expected honestly. It is not an aural hematoma or traumatic injury. It really needs to be seen and biopsied.
Can you apply for care credit, the no to low interest credit card that can only be used for veterinary, medical or dental visits? Please try.
Thank you for the advice. I posted the photos. I know she needs to go to the vet, but right now we are not even close to being financially able for at least another 2 months or so. It's more like a "stump" than a lump, but she stopped scratching it at least. The end that was open is scabbing over, but it's still very worrisome. Again, thank you for the advice!!
I tried to view your photos but images could not be found. Could you try posting them to your profile photo section?
But, even if the photos were available nothing can replace a hands on office visit. Lesions associated with ears tend to bleed a lot.
A bleeding, very vascular lesion should really be seen by a vet soon. There are many causes for a lesion as you describe and these can include: a traumatic injury, spider or insect bite, ear hematoma, a dermal neoplasm and more. The sooner the cause of the lesion is determined, the sooner appropriate treatment can be instituted and the more successful it will be.
Therefore, please take her to the vet soon.
