Arthritis develops much more quickly in dogs than it does in humans.  It can develop in as little as 2-3 months after unrepaired injuries. So I would not wait!  It can be repaired but may require surgery.

A dislocated shoulder is very painful to an animal, just as it is to a human.  It is NOT true that a vet can't do anything for a dislocation.

Your dog needs to go as soon as possible.  #1-He's in agony, and #2--the longer you wait, the harder it becomes to fix, and the less likely it will be to stay in place.
