How do I administer this solution and how many times a week?
We lost the best ear-cleaner in the world - our old dog Chica. :-) She was diligent in keeping her pack members' ears cleaned out every day. She even tried to do the same to me and Hubby. She'd roll her tongue into a tube and start probing away if we weren't alert to her intentions. LOL!
Now that she's gone, we have to keep up with cleaning doggy ears at least every month. Hubby's pretty good at it, and the dogs just love it when he gets out the Q-tips and kleenex. As long as we keep up the regular maintenance, we have no trouble with bacterial or fungal infections.
Otomax is not a cleaning solution. It is ear medication that treats yeast and bacteria otitis (ear infection). You can make a ear solution at home if your dog has a yeast infection in her ears. Use one tablespoon of vinegar in 1/2 cup of warm water. It should be either room temperature or slightly warmer since cold water in ears can cause inner ear problems.
