Our cat is six years old, he is an indoor/outdoor cat and has been immunized against everything offered in MN. He has been healthy and happy for six years.
Last week Tues. night we gave him his usual dose of frontline plus for cats.. never a reaction before. The next morning he was throwing up and drooling alot. he seemed better in the pm. Thurs. he had no appetite and seemed listless but we called the vet who advised watching him to determine progress.
Fri. morning he was the same but all of a sudden he started wandering aimlessly around, his eyes were completely dilated and he seemed blind. We took him to the vet.
The vet did blood work which all came out ok except for high potassium. They treated for dehydration and sent home.
Our cat now has his eyesight back but has no appetite, is extremely lethargic, and has little coordination in his back legs. It has been three days. He has urinated since being home. Even breathing.
Does this sound like an allergic reaction to the frontline as it happened so sudden or could this possibly be kidney disease? The vet checked for that and there was no sign.
Any possible treatment or advice? Our vet's next recomendation was to take xrays which made no sense to us...
