uneven pupil dilation

Hi.  I noticed this morning that one of my cats appeared to have uneven pupils.  After watching for a second they evened out.  I've been watching all day and it seems that on occasion, his pupils dialate at slightly different rates - fast enough that by the time I get the camera ready to snap a picture for my vet they are even.  He is acting fine in every other way.  A few days ago he did seem to be keeping that eye closed more, but could open it fully and it's fine now.  The eye itself looks normal.

I know there are many causes of uneven pupils, but have never come across uneven dilation.  Should I get him into his vet asap?

Thanks for any advice.

Okay, thanks.  I'll make an appointment tomorrow.  Since writing my question his pupils have been equal...

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
at his age I would say get him to the vet quite soon.  Reason is that if glaucoma is the cause that can damage the retina quickly.  Your veterinarian will want to make a determination and begin treatment immediately.

let us know how he does.
