red spots

yesterday I took my dog to the  park for a walk, open fields then a wooded trail next to a creek, after we got home I noticed some bright red spots on her belly and where her legs meet her under side, I checked for fleas and ticks did not find anythin, I gave her a bath and washed all her bedding and coller etc... what do you think it is?

It may have been Chigger mite infestation, contact dermatitis, or environmental allergies.

Glad to hear she's healing up. Sounds like a reaction to some of the grasses and plant life that she may have wandered through. Yes, even our pets can have allergies.

If it is caused by environmental allergies, it would be really difficult to avoid, unless you just don't walk in this area.  

If the problem is due to gnats, chiggers or other parasite, the product Advantix repels many, or use the human coil insecticide bands around her ankles (only use the one's that are safe for children).  You must wash off her ankles after using the insecticide coils.

You could also use doggie clothes as a barrier, of course.

what can I do to avoid those, we love to walk in that area,,, is there a tx I can apply befor we go?

yea, her belly is fairly low because she is a bull mastiff.   no, there is no swelling at all, the spots are completely flat, and she did not seem to itch them at all, and now they are almost completly gone, , it was weird we have walked there before but this is the first time that has happend, I will have to keep her more on the trail from now on.

I wonder if it's a reaction to some plants out there, like nettles for example. There are also many tiny biting insects that could brush against her belly as she played in the area. How large are the spots and is there any swelling around the spots?

Im pretty sure its internal bleeding get her checked NO MATTER WHAT!!! You really never know what it could be so  please go to the vet before its to late.!
