Is it possible my cat will get well without further surgery

My kitten was diagnosed with an ear polyp. We were told the surgery would be 1000-2500 dollars.
the vet examined her ear under general Anesthetic and pulled out a lot of the polyp.
Her then put her on prednisone and antibiotics. Is it really possible the prednisone will shrink it up enough to not warrant further surgery?
From my googling prednisone and ear polyps I cannot seem to find much info that this will actually do anything for her.
She is very unhappy, walks with a tilted head and not playing at all like she used to 3 short weeks ago.
The cost of the surgery is very daunting, but if we delay it by continuing to try predinosone treatment will it challenge the results she might get from surgery?

I'm sorry to hear about your kitten.  Polyps develop in the bulla and can either grow up into the ear canal or down the Eustachian tube into the oropharynx.  While the prednisone may provide some temporary relief, with the head tilt you describe, your kitten will probably require surgery. If the cost is prohibitive, you might get another quote for surgery or see if your veterinarian offers any payment plans.

Thank you very much. This is kind of what I suspected.
