Symptoms Worse After Methotrexate

I have undifferentiated connective tissue disease and have taken Plaquenil and methotrexate for 10 months.  I was recently bumped from 20 mg. oral to 25 mg. injections.  After each injection my pain symptoms get worse about 4 hours later and gradually improve over the course of the week.  The pain returns after my next dosage.  Does anyone else experience this?  Any thoughts/advice?  Thanks for your help.

Thank you for your response. Yes, I was taking folic acid but then was started on luecovorin, which is a stronger version.  Maybe I need to take both?

I am taking the same meds as you but my MTX is oral.  Are you on Rx strength folic acid?  I know that they had to increase mine to help with the side effects.  When I take MTX I feel like I have the flu for about 48 hrs and then am usually better.
