how much are methotrexate injections?

I just started weekly methotrexate injections and turned in my prescription to be filled at the pharmacy.  I did my first shot at the doctors office which was good because the pharmacy said they had to order it.  I was told they didn't keep it in stock regularly because it is so expensive.  Uhm, so how expensive are methostrexate injections??  I have good health insurance, I was just curious.

Yes, it comes in generic now so it's pretty inexpensive especially if you have insurance. :) If you can get a 3 months supply from a mail-in pharmacy, it's even cheaper.

That is wonderful news!  I always cringe when I have to go pick up a new prescription as you just never know.  I try not to think about how much I spend on meds each month!

I actually just picked up my prescription for 4 doses and was bracing myself but it was $5.00 with my insurance, $11.99 without insurance.  I was incredibly relieved!

Hi there.  When I was on methotrexate, my doctor wrote a script that required me to go to a compounding pharmacist as he had a stabilizer added to it.  This enabled a bottle to last for a month or more.  It cost me about 65.00/bottle and that was without insurance.
