For me, my left neck/shoulder pain stemmed from a poor workstation set-up. Though I'm right-handed and mouse with my right hand, tension in my right arm/shoulder/neck was pulling on the left side and eventually sprained the left side of my neck.

The lump does sound worrisome, though - please go have your doctor check it out!

I have heard of so many people complaining of left shoulder and neck pain.  I am trying to find answers for myself.  I have had shoulder and neck pain now for almost 2 months.  No relief what so ever, but my concern is that my collarbone feels swollen with a lump like feeling at the end of it.  The lump just showed up in the midst of all this pain, and I am concerned.

Have you tried a chiropractor? Some of them (not all) know ways to do manipulations that could take your pain away. Good luck!
