severe sudden joint pain

Friday I woke up with a stiff neck.  It did not really hurt but felt very stiff, as the day progressed I started to  have pain in my neck but also my ankles, soon it was my wrists.  By the next day all of my joints hurt so badly that I had a hard time walking.  I called the Doctor who prescibed anti inflammatories and muscle relaxers as well as pain meds but didn't seem too concerned.  Today i have severe pain in my hands and knuckles.  This has happened so suddenly I had absolutely no warning.  My mobility has definitely suffered.  Any ideas about what this could be?  I am 43 and live in France in the suburbs of Lyon.  I have two dogs and our yard has lots of trees.

Glad you got to the Dr.  HLA B27 does not mean anything by itself.  Combined with other test results like ANA, Sed, CRP, etc., it can help determine what is ailing you.  That the prednisone is helping indicates you do have inflamation.  It MIGHT be one of the spondylotharapies that is affecting you, but that is just a guess.

thanks for your comments;  Saw my Dr.  who ran all sorts of tests; not lyme not a virus he did find HLA B27 which means what?  He is sending me to an specialist who I can't get into until July 1st!!! I am taking high dosage of prednisone so now I can at least move but the swelling and pain lasted over a week.  this is all so scary.  Any ideas or comments about what I have?  I do love Google but sometimes it is too much info to digest

Hi.  I would definitely get into the doctor .  It could be a myriad of things and without additional symptom information, it is hard to say what it might be.
Because you mention dogs and trees, I think you may be suspicious of Lymes, is that right?  I know it exists in France (gotta love Google.)
Bon chance!
