hello, no i have not had the nerve blocks. my dr will not even do surgery, i will be on pain meds the rest of my life. they left it open for me to decide if i wanted to get the nerve block, since the odds were against them working  we decided against it. have you ever had cortisone injections? now i have had those in the beginning and i must say at first they really helped, i have had so many now i can't have any more. i have so many health issues, i think of all-- the nerve damage for me is the worst!  to me, it feels like steady labor pains that never stop-i ain't birthing no baby here! lol! have to laugh a little sometimes! i feel for you-- any amount of pain is not good! what is being done for you? what dr's are you seeing? keep in touch. there are so many good people here at medhelp. i stumbled upon it one day while looking up something on the internet.  let me know how you are and what is happening with you. take care and god bless, my typing isn't the best--pain--pain--pain--kb234

It looks like both of us have a hard time typing!  It sounds like nerve blocks help you?  What are they?  How often can you have them done?
Thanks!

no 2 people are the same, sounds like you have some work to do with your ortho or neuro. i have nerve damage-etc, i go to pain management for my conditions-i have the option of getting neve blocks, i do not want surgeries as long as i can still walk. if you have a good dr he will discuss your options, are they treating you for the pain? i wish you the best and god bless-kbe234

I'm sorry that I haven't responded sooner-you have been very thoughtful in responding to my single statement.  My stenosis is mild to moderate at all levels.  I also have a sequestered disc fragment originating from L3 up to L1.  There is a mild spondylolisthesis at L2/3.  There is  facet arthropathy and ligamentum flavum hypertrohy , too. My symptoms are tingling and leg pain in both legs.  Naturally there is back pain, also.  I have problems walking or standing.  What should I expect?
