Sitting at a desk all day is becoming one of the biggest causes of osteoarthritis of the lumbar spine...
proper posture, and keeping your back abdominal muscles strong will help to prevent further damage.
thanks for the responses! the nurse did tell me about the normal wear and tear over the years. i just am not sure why this is the case at 26 and why its causes so much pain!
i am at a desk a lot but i am also quite active. i run most days and have a hard time sitting still. as for my posture, im sure it could be quite a bit better! and no i do not play contact sports. as far as i know, my dr. only ordered the x- ray. and i have never broken it. again thanks for responding!
Hi, just one more question to tack on to the ones D asked. Have you ever injured or broken your tailbone?
Is it your tailbone or your sacrum? What is your pain like?
Mild arthritic changes doesn't neccessarily mean arthritis. As we get older, our joints tend to show a little wear and tear. What kind of job do you do? Do you sit at a desk all day, or are you on your feet a lot? Do you have good posture or do you slouch and "relax"? Do you play contact sports? Did your doctor order any blood tests or just the x-ray?
