Wondering?

I'm having symptoms of ibs & have had i guess you can say "bowel problems" since I was 3. It kind of started a couple months ago when my diet COMPLETELY changed. Anyway, I had movement similar to muscle spasms in my stomach, arm, & knee. Idk why though. Last night while I was trying to sleep, I had a flutter-like feeling on the left side of my abdomen for about 3 seconds, then I felt the same thing in my right thigh. Last month I had brown discharge about an hour or 2 before my period & this month it lasted about 4 days after. That's never happened before. My menstrual cycle is regular, idk what's going on.

Thank you lots! (:

& Actually, I forgot to mention that my stomach does tend to hurt if I need to have a bowel movement. It just happened about 5 minutes ago actually. (Lol) , anyways . . Thank you again! (:

HI and thanks for using the forum.

I am not really sure if the symptoms you have described are related, but you might just be having muscle spasms.  I believe with IBS, the symptoms are actually painful (cramping, diarrhea, constipation, etc.).  As far as your menstrual cycle, it is not uncommon to have some discharge before and after your period.  If you are worried and feel it is a big change for  you then you might want to see your OB/GYN  for a pelvic exam to be sure that nothing is going on.  Hope this helps.
