Hi and thanks for using the forum.
Based on what you have written here, I would think that your elevated BP is most likely caused by anxiety. It seems that when your blood pressure is elevated, it is because you are worried about something. Since your blood pressure was low/normal on the 24 hour blood pressure monitor, I would think that your doctor is right in that you don't regularly have high blood pressure. So, what do you do? You have a couple of options. First, trust your doctor, echo results and bp monitor results and stop taking your blood pressure. This might not be realistic for you since this is obviously something you are concerned about. Next, you could try and get your anxiety under control. To do this, you need to identify what causes your anxiety and try to avoid whatever that is. You could try anxiety/stress relieving techniques such as meditation, distraction, exercise, etc. Finally, you could go back to your doctor, explain that you are having episodes of elevated bp that you think are caused by anxiety, and see if he/she feels that you would benefit from some anxiety medication. I would use this as a last resort, since you had no elevated BP's on your 24 hour monitor which would indicate that you can control your anxiety to some degree. I hope this helps. Good luck.

thank you so much for taking your time to help me understand. i have stop taking my bp so much. talk to my nurse she said take it twice a day and go by the first reading dont keep taking it . so that what ive done but i have took it in middle day see what its running. its been great any where from 132/73 to 105/62 so been happy with the readings. have not felt anxiety so i think your right its going be high on anxiety days which i need to learn to control which is not easy .i know all my test have been good so am happy about that. can i ask if its true that a nucler/stress test does not show a blockage if under 70 percent is that true. had one last year they said it was good. but have heard that. thanks again
