Torticollis or Strain Please help!!!!

Hey guys I'm a 25 year old male and have no family history of torticollis nor have I ever used any antipsychotic drugs just xanax and zoloft for anxiety/depression. Anyways for the last 3 months my left SCM has been really swollen and tight. My head is NOT pulled to one side but there is a lot more tension when pulling in opposite direction of left scm. I have dizziness and lump in throat feeling. Lately the other muscles around it have become tight as well. I'm terrified that it may be torticollis even though my family doctor and chiropractor keeps telling me it's not. My osteopathic doctor also didn't seemed too concerned and said it would probably clear up in 2 weeks but it has not. I have also seen an ENT and he didn't see anything abnormal either about my throat. I'm going to another osteopathic doctor Wednesday to get another opinion. If he tells me it's not torticollis should I trust them and believe in the process or go to a neurologist and get X-rays/MRIs? Pleas help!!!

Thanks for using the forum.

I think that if you have gotten the opinion of 2 osteopathic doctors, and an ENT, you are likely not dealing with torticollis. I would recommend speaking with the doctor at the appointment on Wednesday about solutions to relieve your discomfort. Possibly you may need some physical therapy to relieve the muscle strain and discomfort.

I hope this helps.
