Sinus infections, surgery lots of antibotics, asthma, fungus, and now a horrific coughing with white thick mucus

I was stung by a bee and had a allergic reaction last year. This caused alot of sinus problems. One year later I had a really bad sinus infection. Went to the ENT. After antibotics and CT scan. Then I had surgery. I have not cleared up yet. I have been on agumentin 850mg for 10 day, Levinquin 750 for 10 days, agumentin 850mg for 10 day, Levinquin 750 for 10 days, agumentin 850mg for 10 day, Levinquin 750 for 10 days. that's a total 60 days. Two cultures of the sinus' and there is no growth of bacteria. They have put me on A fungal medication for 20 days now. I went to my medical Doctor and asked him what could I do. I still have alot of sinus drainage all day long. I have a horrible cough and it produces a very thick white mucus lumps. He gave me a breathing treatment, A 3 in1 shot, nasacort spray, and Ala-Hist. He said that I now have Asthma.

Is there anything else that could be done. None of this has had any affect on this crud. Is there something else to do. I think I have something wrong in the lungs or in the sinus. Nothing has helped.

Hello,

So sorry to hear of this.  My daughter is bee allergic and has had issues with mucosal swellings within her body from reactive reasons so this is not unfamiliar to me totally.

However, maybe a good allergist is something to consider.  I am wwondering (I am a mother, not a medical prof. or doctor) if maybe you are now allergic to something else and this is a reactive reaction going on???!!!

Will they let you try to take Singulaire on a daily basis along with the Nasacort, etc. ??

My daughters turbinates would swell and the goop came out her eyes as a toddler .. noplace to go .. once we figured out the cause (foods in her case) it got better but constant attacks (asthma) and sinus going on , too.

Delayed reactions .. that are "T" cell mediated is what was going on with her .. technical for me but I never forgot what her rheumatologist told us.

Also had delayed reaction to the bee sting with a hip and arthritis in it very bad for 6 mos with loss of range of motion yet the stinger was in her thumb!!!!

Let me know if I may be of any help .. and WELCOME!!!!!

C~

you sound a little like me. I have a chronic cough and have thick white, sometimes yellow phlegm that is really hard to get coughed up. I cough that up everyday, at least 2 times per day. I feel like my eyeballs are going to pop out of my head because I cough sooo hard.
If I am on an oral steroid it helps but once off the steroid, it is hard to cough up again. The coughing keeps me up at night. I have been on many, many medications. I tested positive for asthma but the medications for that, are not even working.
