Yes it all depends on his unique issues. My son took 3 visits when he was 11/12 years old. We got the diagnosis confirmed three days later. It was a few different people from differing specialties who cooperated in my sons case.
Once the diagnosis is confirmed you should ask the specialist what therapies may be needed and the steps you need to take to get documentation signed for approval. That depends on your health insurance coverage.
The sooner therapies are started, the better. You will have to do quite a bit of adjustment.
