how old is too old? please help

im 22 and very anti social overly shy, i hate people in general, i cant stand talking to people if i dont know them very well. i try to push people i know away to the point of breaking up my relationships, i dislike change extremely. i crack it.. ive never been tested as a child for autism i was tested for adhd and was told no. i had learning difficulties and still do have slight dyslexia and i was just wondering after reading all these forums if i could have autism and if i could how would i be tested... autism is in my family both mother and fathers sides and a few other mental conditions.

It is possible that you are autistic. Many people are diagnosed as adults because autism wasn't commonly tested for 10 or 15 years ago. For a child, a child psychologist would perform the testing. As an adult, I imagine your Dr. could reccomend an adult psychologist. Good Luck!

forgot to mention as a child i use to rock back and forth like the rain man and walked on my toes alot and still do sometimes.
