my son is 3.5years old and he doesn't talk .behave normal.hearing normal.but not understand what are you saying.i m worried about him.what should i do.is this a kind of autistic behavior?

how old your child is?and how much he follows your  and others instruction.my son is taking routine instruction which are  in practise .he has PDD nos.he speak single words by  his moods .

speech therapy can be effective before children can fully follow directions. My daughter has had years of therapy and has had plenty of trouble following directions. The therapists have ways of getting the child to cooperate by making them feel like they are playing, not working. it's actually pretty fun to watch

i am from Pakistan. my-son is improving .what are the reasons i don't know.actually ,i guess his behaviour more likely to one year old child.he immitates most of the things.now ,he climbs,jumps,moving his tricycle very fast also play with his sister and brother.he not exactly invite them to play but make something that they like or play last time.but still he does not point out the things when asked.eye contact increases.but not talk.he s not autistic.dr said that we put him PDD Nos in borderline.sppeech therapy will be effective when he will start to take orders/.

My daughter also has speech problems. She is 5 and has been diagnosed with autism. Does your child say anything at all clearly? Does he learn new words and then lose them? That would be a pretty big indication of autism. It's hard to say exactly what it is without more information. Also, only a developmental pediatrician can give you a diagnosis. While you are waiting for a dx I would definitely seek services from a speech therapist as soon as possible. I wish you the best of luck!

Take your child to a Developmental Pediatrician. From what country are you?

My oldest son who is now 13 had he same issue when he was your son's age.  

You should have his hearing and speech checked... And also see a developmental specialist.

Could be.  Could also be a speech delay or disorder.  I would ask for a referral to a speech language pathologist.

There are different reasons why a child has communication/speech problems with autism being one possibility.  There is also a basic speech delay, sensory integration disorder, a global delay, etc.

I would say that it is time to get your child evaluated.  Is a speech pathologist available to you?  You could check with your primary care doctor about one to see.  I also think a developmental pediatrician is a good resource if you have concerns about autism.  I don't know where you are located, what country, and that would be helpful.

What else is going on besides speech?  How are other motor skills, fine or gross?  How is his socialness?  Does he point for what he wants or communicate in any way with you?

There are three parts of speech.  There is receptive (understanding what someone says), expressive (being able to forumlate the thoughts, sentences to answer the question or talk to someone) and articulation (actually making the sounds).  

Apraxia is something you should look up.  But when a child has apraxia, it is important to see what else could be going on with it.

My son had speech issues due to his sensory integration disorder.
