Hashimotos just diagnosed

Was just diagnosed with Hashimotos. Doctor said my antibodies were very high. Over 20,000. Is that ridiculously high? I have an ultrasound scheduled. Should I be concerned?

Please provide specific results, if you have them.

The reference ranges for the 2 hashimoto's antibodies are:
Thyroid peroxidase antibody (TPOAb): Less than 35 IU/mL
Thyroglobulin antibody (TgAb): Less than 20 IU/mL

The lab ref. values could vary and use different units of measure as well.

You have the right to ask for a copy of the results.

And yes, hashimotos is a serious A/I disease and you should educate yourself as much as possible on it.

Cheers,
Niko
