Strange exhaustion episodes

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2000 and now I am a 27 year old college student. About 8 months ago I think I had a strange episode. In dealing with the fibro I have had the occasional tender skin episodes. It feels like I'm bruised as well as sunburned that the best I can describe it. It usually was confined to my back and shoulders and while it was unpleasant to say the least it was tolerable. But eight months ago it started but it was my whole body, and it was literally about 50 times worse. I was also short of breath and had these episodes of exhaustion where I simply could not stay awake. For a life time insomniac this was very odd. I saw my doctor and she said it was allergies and allergy induced asthma. Since I am allergic to mold which is unfortunately unavoidable I began taking loratidine and singular everyday along with an inhaler as needed. The episodes pretty much disappeared. my skin still hurt sometimes but I was alright. Then for no discernible  they day after Christmas they came back with a vengeance. The pain was horrible, I couldn't stay awake, I was slurring my words, it was so bad my boyfreind counted every pill in the house to make sure I hadn't accidentally overdosed on something. The next episode which was just a few days ago was worse. The pain was literally excrutiating and as someone who is in pain everyday I truly mean excrutiating. It hurts to be touched, it hurts to lay down, my clothing hurts and it got so bad that I couldn't put my hair in a pony tail because it was hurting my scalp. I was completely out of it, talking nonsense because I was half awake and half asleep. I had to miss school because of it which really bothered me. This can't keep happening. I am going back to the doctor and asking her to test me for lyme disease again but I have had a ridiculous amount of tests and everything is negative. everything gets blamed on the fibro but I can't live like this. please help there must be something I can do

Have you been tested for mono?  My immune system was/is so messed up that when the neuro did a viral panel I came back positive for Mono, cytomeglovirus, measles and a few others.  Of course I don't have all that but he even had to explain to the city that they did not need to come check my house because they thought there was a measles outbreak.  lol  That would have been a mess.  You really sound like fibro to me.  Have you been examined for fibro?  What makes you think it's mono?  I'm no doctor of course, just wanting to learn.
God Bless...

Interestingly, in our study of chronic infections in fibromyalgia syndrome, the patients with infections (>75% of patients had infections that we could ID), one of the symptoms that went along quite nicely with infections like Mycoplasma species was the presence of sunburn feeling, itching, pain and redness of the skin.  Patients who had their infections appropriately treated reported that the sunburn feeling, itching and skin pain abated and eventually went away.

I am so sorry to her the pain you are suffering.  I have lupus and fibro so I understand.  Sometimes when I touch my legs it feels like they are sunburned.  One thing came to mind, have you had your ANA checked to see if this is autoimmune?  I will continue to try to think what you can do.  My friend has fibro and nobody can even give her a hug.  I think I would see a Neurologist and have him do as many tests as possible.  When I first became ill in 2007 I found a good Neuro that did a full panel of virals and he found my ANA.  Autoimmune diseases can do all kind of weird  and painful things to your body but they can also be controlled.  Let me know how you are and what's going on.

I saw a neurologist but he said the pain was too wide spread to be neuro. They did do ana and came up with nothing but came up with nothing. after some research I am now thinking its chronic mono.
