Burning quads

I'm a senior 74. Had 3 level fusion, pins & screws, bone pack, L3,4,5 in 1968, 44 years ago. Have had burning in quads for many years after only few minutes walking. Stairs are nearly impossible. Can't rise from a squat. Constant soreness across pelvis day & night. Had knee replacement 2007, the other is on the books. Meds - tylenol. Cautious with others because of heart disease.

sounds  like L5 and  S1 is flairing up.
Try injections,  nerve blocks.   etheir it will work wounders or not work at all.

Sounds like you've got some spinal stenosis affecting cord signal.  Meaning the space for your spinal chord has narrowed and is affecting the ability to transmit info to your legs.  I only know this because out was a sign that my doc said to lok out for.
