C5/C6 FUSION

I HAD A C5/C6 FUSION IN OCTOBER WHICH THE FUSION DID NOT HOLD.
MY DR HAS DECIDED TO DO ANOTHER FUSION BUT THRU THE BACK OF
THE NECK...CAN YOU TELL ME IF THIS INCISION IS ACROSS OR UP &
DOWN....WHAT ARE THE DOWN FALLS TO THIS??

I go in on Thursday for C6-7 with hardware. C5-6 failed also with hardware. Doctor does not know why it failed. Boy just got on this page do to apprehension. reconsideration. is abundent on my side of this.

Did the dr give any reason why it failed?Did he use cadaver bone or yours?Are you a smoker?

there are more muscles in the back..harder to recover..fusions are usually 3 levels
c5-c7 for stability..find out why the fusion didn't hold..you might need a different neurosurgeon
