Hello everyone,
A bit about my back pain history. I have been diagnosed with chronic back pain. The pain started about a 1.5 year ago. I spent nearly 4 months, with pain which fluctuated between my lower and upper back and hip areas. I have been an athlete most of my life. I couldn't quite pin point the injury that caused the pain to start. Also, at parallel to this injury I had been diagnosed with a slap tear Type II on my right shoulder, this pain was also ongoing at the time of the back pain. After, four months of MRIs, bone density tests, Physical therapy, massage theraphy, chiropracters, and eastern medicine, my pain had only worsen. Then, my appendix bursted on the 5th month, forcing me to an appendectomy. My appendix had grown to the size of a baseball, and it was sitting on my psoas muscle. I don't know how much damaged that caused all together, but after I had recovered 2 months, I thought my back problem had ceased. I then proceeded to have my shoulder repaired. 2 months after surgery, my back pain returned at the same intensity as before the appendectomy. I have been undergoing physical Theraphy for both, shoulder is about 85%, but my back just won't return to normal. It is absolutely frustrating. I am hearing the following about possible causes;
1) scar tissue around the appendectomy area
2) lack of abdominal support ( which has been targeted by PT)
3) lack of curvature around the upper back section ( also addressed by PT)
4) improper sleep patterns, and posture ( which I'm also on top off)
5) hip motion (also addressed by PT)
I am considering conrtisone shots this week. I've them before, but know the relief is only for a couple of weeks.
Is there anything else that you guys can think off?? MRIs show no problems involving bulging disks.... I have tried two different back specialist highly recommended.
I would really appreciate any information.
