Yes I think you need a surgeon for your doctor to blow this off is rediculous. Your M.R.I. is much worse that your first post. Are you doing anything about this work injury? Sounds like someone finally see's that you need a surgeon. I would stop the P.T. until you see the surgeon. Good luck and keep us posted.

Glad I Helped

I think a 2nd opinion should be considered by someone other than a wc dr.

I should have posted all of the MRI which I will.
posterior fossa brain parenchyma is unremarkable.
c3-4 minimal uncovertebral hypertrophy w/o central canal or neural foraminal narrowing.
c4-5 is the same as c3-4
c5-6 moderate uncovertebral hypertrophy left greater than right. minimal canal stenosis. minimal left side nueral foraminal narrowing. minimal mass effect on the left paracentral cord.
c6-7 moderate left mild right uncovertebral hypertrophy. minimal mass effect on the left paracentral cord. mild central stenosis. minimal left sided neural foraminal narrowing. no prominent right side neural foraminal narrowing.

probably left side uncovertebral hypertrophy resulting in mild mass effect in the lft paracentral cord at c6-7 and c5-6 more prominently.minimal cord rotation at these leves secondary to mass effect on the left paracentral cord anteriorly.

I really do not understand this but all the doc said was I had arthritis in my neck. He is sending me to pt but that is really not working. cervical traction was a nightmare I had a migraine for 5 days. they said they would not do that again. the doc says I can go back to work 9-15 but I still feel the same as I did 2 months ago when that 25 pound box fell on the top of my head at work. This is just the neck I also have 3 protruding discs in the thoracic spine (t7-8 t8-9 t9-10) that he(the doc) won't even talk about.

Probably the disc C5/C6 and C6/C7 has ruptured into the spinal cord and minimaly rotated it. The "mass effect " or bulge from the disc is pussing on the spinal cord. I hope you are seeing a surgeon who will address this. I have had 6 neck fusions and two of them ruptured into the spinal cord also. Do you heave pain between the shoulder blades that won't go away? The others ruptured out to the nerve causing, more arm pain than between the shoulder blades. When the spinal has a mass effect on it it sould be addressed soon.

Hope I Help
