Artificial Disk Replacement or not?

I was wondering, if you can kindly help me decide on what type
of surgery I should go for.
If you can give some advise based on my symptoms, I will appreciate it.
I got the mid sagittal spinal canal diameter -in mm.
They are as follows: C2: 14, C3-C3:13, C3:12.3, C3-C4:13, C4:12,
C4-C5: 13; C5:13; C5-C6: 12.5; C6:12.3; C6-C7:9 ; C7:12

My C6-C7 level  shows focal left sided posterior herniation
compressing the thecal sac and mildly indenting on the cord. There is
also unco vertebral osteophytes causing left neural foramnal stenosis
with indentation of the exiting c7 nerve root.

C5-C6 shows mild left paracentral bulge.

I am not sure, if I should go for "Artificial Disk Replacement" even
though the doctor has suggested it. microdisketomy without artificial replacement seems
to be a better option, though it will restrict my movement of neck
because of fusion. Please advise.

No, I didn't have a Microdisketomy, It was a regular fusion through the front. The surgery was somewhat of a success, but it didn't get rid of all of my pain, I think part of that is due to the fact that I have another level that needs to be fused. The recovery was hard, it took a long time and a lot of Physical Therapy to feel better.

They weren't doing ADR's when I had my neck fused, I don't know if I would have tried it or not. Hope you surgery goes well and here's a couple links to some ADR Forums.

I will definitely make sure about his experience. How are u feeling about fusion? Was it done by microdisketomy?
About surgery, this is the only one. I had too many opinions about whether to have surgery or not.

I don't know if we have any members right now that have had ADR. I had that level fused. Is the MIcrodisketomy a minimally evasive procedure? Are you planning on getting a second opinion or just going with this one. Do you know how many ADR's this Surgeon has done, that's a very important question.
