Thanks much for your advice.
I had a ruptured disc L4-L5 and had microdisc surgery over a year ago. Glad to say I am doing great, back to working out. I am (was) a fitness nut and worked out all the time. Run, cycle, cross-fit, weights, P90x, insanity, you name it. I always wanted to see how fit I can be. I would sometimes have back pains, pulled muscles etc and always thought I should work out through it-no pain no gain. Wrong. Listen to your body. Stop the deadlifts. There are many alternatives to stay fit and strong. If something hurts rest. You can do more damage. If it still hurts get it checked out. I think it might be good to see a neurosurgeon and get an MRI done. Best of luck.
Hi,
I am fine thank you. I got an x-ray and the doctor said that nothing was broken. Do you recommend I get an MRI? I would like to know why the deadlift hurts my back because it did not hurt it before the therapist popped my back.
Hi,
How are you? Were there imaging studies done? The pain could be due to musculoskeletal issues and not necessarily from popping your back. Pain medications and avoiding your deadlift exercise at this point may help. Imaging studies will help rule out musculoskeletal issues or problems with your vertebrae or bones. Take care and do keep us posted.
