Creaking in the neck and dizzyness

I have arthritis in the neck and when I move it from side to side it creaks ,I also get a dizzy spell if I stand up too quick ( this could be from tablets I take also ) but the dizzy spell has been going on for a few days now but it settles down after a bit , could I be suffering from vertigo?

It is quite common to hear creaking and crunching noises when moving the neck when you have a degenerative problem in the bones.

Make an appointment to see your doctor to find the cause of the dizzy spells.  It may be due to the degeneration in the cervical area and the doctor may send you for MRI or xrays to find out if this is the case.  Dizzy spells can also happen from postural hypertension, so do get up very slowly.

Your doctor may wish to check your blood pressure.
If you have a throat or ear infection that too can make you feel dizzy.  But as your dizzy spells come on when you stand up quickly from a sitting position, it is highly likely to be from postural hypertension due to the degeneration of the neck bones.
