I started Graston about a five treatments ago for extreme pain while sitting. It is definitely doing the trick. My physical therapist is careful to avoid putting pressure on nerves and works carefully when nearing my hamstring insertion point. I am so thrilled with the results after three years of pain.
Never heard of rolfing. I was just curious if anyone else had tried the Graston. I actually had it done about a year ago. It is painful and I did improve, but he had done it in conjunction with other treatments, so I dont really know how much could acccredited to the Graston,s. He wanted to do it again, but it was especially painful this time
One of the chiropractors I tried suggested it, but after a couple of treatments it seemed to do more harm to me than good.
Graston Technique claims to cure and stimulate healing by doing damage first — breaking eggs to make an omelette. In particular, its goal is to “break down scar tissue and fascial restrictions,” and even targets issues that are chronically inflammed, which is not without risk. Graston therapists will firmly scrape an inflammed tendon, for instance. I'm hearing about rolfing now and wonder if that is similiar?
