Last attempt at comfort

OK so it is after midnight and my back/neck pain has woke me up yet again.  So I thought I would start a midnight post and see how many are out there.  I get woke up nightly about 2-hours after going to sleep in agonizing pain takes a good hour to get my comfort level down to a non-crying status:} Steamy showers, tossing and turning, pain medication.  Waking up the spouse, turning on the TV.  Going downstairs for a snack???  SO, what do you do and how do you deal with it?  It is getting very old...  I have an appointment tomorrow 8AM with my PCP to discuss Long Term Disability.  I work for the state and have been off for 5 months due to this crap.  two major surgeries, 3MBB's, 3 Epidurals, 1 nerve root burn from C2-C5, ACDF 6/7, Physical Therapy, Pain Management.  I am no where closer to getting a good nights sleep or back to normal than when this whole thing started.  I would appreciate others to share there stories with me.  It seems to help to hear what others are thinking, what they have done, how they are dealing:)

I feel exactly the same way you do... it is impossible to get comfortable sometimes... I wake with my back screaming in pain and taking my medicine hoping and hoping that it kicks in before I come out of my skin.... the feeling is all too familiar... just know that you are NOT alone!

I assume you have a heating pad?  Some nights I have to sleep with one.  It's just the only way I can get comfortable.  Or, I can doze in the bathtub, although not if I'm heavily medicated!
