severe pain

My  Dad has this lightening bolt pain that starts in the middle of the abdomen and wraps around to his back,,he cant walk , lift his arms. nobody can find what is causing this pain.

he could be having a gall bladder problem,or spasm.my mom had them several yrs ago,and the docs didnt know what was making her be in so much pain,also she would have weak spells,and finally,infection set into her whole body and she would vomit pure bile,one night she got so sick and dehydrated we had to rush her to the emergency room,and she was admitted right away,and had to have immediate surgery.docs said if we hadnt brought her when we did she wouldnt have made it,and could not understand why all those drs before had missed her symptoms! hope you find out soon what it is,good luck  esor15

Pinched nerve?  See a physio?  Then again, that would be the obvious answer so you guys may have ruled that one out already.
