No question about it, you need to set an appointment with your Primary Care Physican, as to looking for a referral to a Ortho or Neuro Specialist. It's obvious you injured your body, and to wait until things either enter a stage of work or social disability, or worse, is just not necessary. There are many negative compounding results for putting off what should be done, with our bodies. Whether a back, hip or extremity source, you have to realize that our body systems are all connected. Our bodies can not, and will not, function as our friend, if we neglect it. Make that call...
The problem is that the back, spine and pelvic area can be so complicated and difficult to diagnose becuase there are such a lot of different componants, bones, muscles, discs etc. However one thing it could be because of the pj problem is disc related. Beacause you have had these painful symptoms for over 6 weeks they should take you seriously and get an MRI scan to see what is going on. You can't really find anything else out for sure, until that is done. Haven't a clue about the snapping but consultants usually only look at spines so if you do get to that stage be sure to mention that to him/her as well. In the mean time, if you haven't already, take some ibuprofen, anti inflamitory tablets as the body will protect the area that is damaged by cushioning it and that builds up over night. Try setting your alarm clock about 1/2 - 1 hr before it's time to get up and take these pain killers, it may help ease things a bit. Take care.
