Need advice

Approximately eight weeks ago I slipped and caught myself from falling down the stairs. I immediately felt pain in my mid and lower back. Pain brought me to my knees.I had a previous Thoracic injury in 2004 with five levels of varying disc herniation and or bulge and also DDD. I statred to have symptoms that involve my right leg buttocks and hip area as well as some bladder problems. (my bladder always feels full) I finally saw my spine doctor she was very concerned about the radiculopathy and bladder symptoms. She sent me for an MRI the same day. They are trying t get me an appointment with a nuerosurgeon but hasn't happened yet. In the meantime I am in agony. I have a copy of MRI results but not sure what they mean. mild retrolythesis of l5 over s1 small incidental hemangioma within l1 vetebral body l4-l5 level has partial disc desiccation and degenarative endplate changes minimal disc bulge and degenerative facet arthropathy bilaterally l5-s1 mild retrolythesis dis desiccation disc space narrowing and degenerative endplate changes small central herniated disc facet joints mild degeneration bilateral nueral foramen slightly narrowed mild spondolysis at l4-l5 and l5-s1 Do I need surgery and if not how do i cope with this pain???

You do have some DDD and the Retrolisthesis (which is backward slippage of vertebra in relation to the one below) and the disc space narrowing can pinch nerves too, your symptoms sound nerve related.

Did you mean that you had 5 herniations in the Thoracic, were you in an accident? Is the shocking in your upper thoracic, I get that too, it wraps around to my chest. It’s probably from a nerve being pinched.

How soon before you see a Doctor, you need someone to sort this out and figure out what’s causing your pain?

There’s not anything on here that would require immediate surgery, but you do have some age related changes that can cause back pain. Disc bulges and disc space narrowing can pinch nerves and facet arthropathy and  discogenic problems can cause pretty bad back pain. Are you sure you haven’t reinjured your Thoracic, how come you didn’t have an MRI on it?
