Please Help Me Understand!!!

My MRI shows
1: deginerative change in right S-1
2: L4-L-5 moderate disc bulge  resulting in central stenosis and bilateral foraminal narrowing
3: L5-S-1 3mm Right paracentral disc protrusion without stenosis or nerve root inpengement

This is just the preliminary report.  I should receive the final within a few days.

I also have symptomatic Tarlov cysts (nerve root systs) in my cervical area (very rare and very painful).

Any help understanding this MRI would be appreciated!

You have degeneraive changes in s-1. Doesn't say what. Could be ddd, or something to do with the bone. You have central stenosis with bilateral foraminal stenosis. Foraminal stenosis is where the exiting holes in your vertabrae for the nerve roots to exit is narrow at this level which could result in root nerve compression which is extremely painful.
