Looks like he was saying he isn't on meds which is why he is having alcohol. I am having the same issue...i have three doctors, none of which is taking care of pain management (this is abdominal pain).
I'm not sure how to get someone to take care of it. They make you feel instantly as if you are a junkie if you ask for anything nowadays!
you should never mix prescription meds with alcohol. are you not thinking with your brain?
do not take more than what is prescribed. try to only take them only when you need them. mixing prescription meds like that with alcohol is highly NOT recommended.
p.s. I am a community member.
Try to think about say like 1 - 2, if he said you can take 2, otherwise calculate 1, every 4 - 6 hours in a day while you are awake, say 7 A.M. to 10 or 11 p.m. and see how many that come out to. For instance if you have, 30 and you use like a 15 hour day and say it comes out to be 1 every 5 hours which would be 3 pills total - we will do the in between, then you should be able to get them refilled in 10 days from the date you started them, got them filled. Some doctors would consider it a month's supply, but it depends on your pain. Some would consider it probably 2 week supply. You'd just take the 3 pills a day, divide into the 30 and that gets you the 10 days. Hope that helps, hope I didn't make it confusing.
I don't think you are abusing them. Some people need them their entire life. Some people have chronic pain they have to deal with. You cannot let a person go with chronic pain, make them suffer. Although my doctor likes too. Can't wait to find a new doctor, myself. I just get to suffer and cry my head off. I often have some alcohol now cuz of the pain to help ease it. However, sometimes drinking causes my chest pains to flair up really really bad, but they eventually go away, unlike the pain I suffer from. It is a long story.
Anyway, hope the calculations helped.
