Problems after thoracic compression fractures

Following on from T7/T8 compression fractures 2 years ago I have been plagued by severe pain on left hand side of ribs. After recent CT scans I have been told that I possibly have touching ribs on this side. Despite physiotherapy manipulation I am not progressing ( if anything physio makes pain worse !)  Doctor from rheumatology says nothing more he can do . Any suggestions on how to proceed would be much appreciated,

I never fractured ribs only vertebrae. I've been told that its the way these have now compressed that is making the ribs touch. Any suggestions as to how this can be resolved would be appreciated.

Hi!
Well the pain could be because the broken rib edges s are touching the pleura or lining of the lungs or because they are pressing on the intercostals nerves between the ribs. If physiotherapy is making this worse, maybe strapping the chest will help the fracture heal. You need to consult either an orthopedic specialist or a sports injury specialist. This is not something to be treated by a rheumatologist. Take care!

The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history. Hence this reply to your post should only be considered as a guiding line and you must consult your doctor at the earliest for your medical problem.
